Toyota BT Reflex E-series reached the pinnacle of design with a Gold recognition from the German Design Award jury 2022

Proven Innovation  

The German Design Awards are international prizes awarded by the German Design Council to honour unique design trends. In the category 'Excellent Product Design', the BT Reflex E-series was awarded Gold by an esteemed international jury of experts. It’s not the first time a Toyota reach truck got a special mention in terms of design. Indeed, the previous O and R models both won awards back in 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, the previous E-series with unique tilting cabin also won the Red Dot ‘Best of the Best Award’ in 2018. 

Toyota has been a global leader on innovation within its industry for years. With the new BT Reflex Series, they have been setting additional benchmarks for safety, ergonomics, and energy efficiency. The BT Reflex E-series is the world’s only reach truck with a tilting cabin. It is designed to reduce the risk of strain for the driver in repetitive high-level applications. The new model sets the scene with its proven innovation, including a brand-new colour touchscreen that is easy to reach and intuitive. Outstanding ergonomics and placing the driver at the center of the design is always the priority for Toyota’s Design team.  

Combining quality with user performance  

The German Design award jury states: ‘Designed for work in high-bay warehouses, the BT Reflex E-series reach truck impresses with an outstanding overall design concept in a design language that has been reduced down to the very last detail. At the same time, the design combines quality with user performance and underlines the safety and operational concept. Product usability and dynamism are congenially combined in an impressive manner in this product.’ 

All winning designs will be presented to the public in the exhibition of the German Design Awards 2022 that will take place in the Museum für angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt from 11 to 27 February 2022. 

Now the audience has the chance to select their favourites among the award winners. After registering, everyone can place their vote until 28 January 2022. The design with the most votes will be presented with the Public Choice Award in February 2022.
