Toyota Material Handling Europe is the Official Partner for material handling equipment at the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Working in collaboration with Toyota Motor the promise is to ensure seamless, effortless, and flexible mobility for all, including both people and goods. A key objective is to ensure carbon neutrality for all of Toyota’s activities at the event, which means electrification of all forklifts - including the use of hydrogen fuel cell technology. Our aim is to deliver mobility to the Olympic & Paralympic Games in the same way that we deliver for our customers, and the way we deliver for you and other consumers worldwide.
Let’s take a moment to pay tribute to the sung and unsung heroes of the logistics industry, mostly ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Our We Deliver For You campaign captures the magic behind the scenes of the intralogistics world and provides an insight into the future of material handling. You call the shots, we make it happen.
From lorry drivers to forklift drivers, warehouse operatives to IT specialists, service technicians to delivery drivers – the European logistics industry comprises a diverse range of people, forming is a well-oiled machine consisting of at least 5 million people across the continent. For many of us this army of workers is more or less invisible – but this powerful team is working around the clock to meet our daily needs.
For instance, with 750 million people in Europe and a typical food consumption of around 1,5kg per person per day, it means that over a billion kilos of groceries need to be delivered to our local stores or front doors every single day – a task that needs to be timely accomplished, virtually every day of the year. Add to that the requirements for medicines, clothing, household items and building materials and the strength and responsibility of the logistics industry becomes even more impressive.
We are a leading player in the European logistics industry, manufacturing, supplying and servicing the equipment needed to move and store goods in warehouses and factories. Today’s logistics systems are based on intelligent machines that are digitally monitored to improve efficiency and reduce costs, and to better protect the operators and maximise safety. Many companies are now using automated technology to respond to consumer demand and ensure that deliveries take place on time, every time.
So next time you go to your local store, or receive a home delivery, think about the millions of people in the European logistics industry that make all this possible.
The logistics industry adapts to seasonal shifts and consumer preferences, ensuring that shelves are stocked with the right products at the right time. Managing changing demands requires effective traceability and real-time data analysis to minimise waste and meet consumer expectations. As a leading player in European logistics, we innovate alongside our partners, utilising technologies like robotic stock scanners and drones to optimise stock levels and supply chains. This ensures that consumers have the freedom to shape their daily experiences with a variety of choices.
Since 2015 Toyota has been the Worldwide Mobility partner of the Olympic & Paralympic Games. In 2024 the games move to Paris where we, for the first time, are the official partner for material handling equipment. This fits perfectly with our company purpose to ‘Move the world towards easy and sustainable’ - given Paris 2024's carbon emission target.
From October 2022, all employees in the company are invited to join Toyota’s ‘Start Your Impossible’ programme, with the aim to make a difference for themselves, their colleagues and society at large.
A lot of things are going on leading up to the games. Click here to know more about what is happening in Paris.
